Phœnix

A typographic, reverse glass painting created after attending a lecture by Alison King about the original branding of this great city. As it turns out, the word 'phœnix' is rooted in Greek dialect. Specifically, the use of a special character 'Œ' (affectionately named Œthel) which was a direct result of limited resources and accessibility to typeset alphabets in the late 1800's. So, I thought I'd take a stab at a fun type treatment.
